After decades of debate over whether or not mankind is destroying our planet by heating it with greenhouse gases, the cat is finally out of the bag. Scientists at a well-respected lab in Virginia have admitted that research shows the planet’s temperature is actually going down. While many critics cry foul over the methods by which the data was gathered (in conjunction with both China and Russia) the findings appear solid.
Most of us have grown up around the idea that the planet is slowly warming (global warming), thus melting the ice caps and eventually leading to a new ice age. However in this new study, we see that the earth is actually COOLING (global cooling) and the ice caps are in fact growing slowly. (See also: http://www.cnn.com/2015/11/03/world/antarctica-ice-gain/)
Does this new finding suggest that the planet is actually headed for a meltdown, instead of an ice age? We asked Dr. Robert Carson* to shed some light on these new discoveries.
“I don’t think we can just jump to the conclusion that the earth is going to experience a giant heat event, though I would argue it is a reasonable hypothesis. If warming makes ice ages, cooling, as the inverse, should in fact create a ‘heat age’ as it were.”
